I have a feeling those that dislike Facebook may be their stockholders. I don't use Facebook personally (or Twitter or MySpace or any other social network). I never saw the rationale for exposing your personal information to the rest of the world. Big Brother doesn't need to watch you if you volunteer your information freely.
I wouldn't call Verizon "beloved". People tend not to like TV providers in general. It just means that Verizon is disliked less than the rest. The list only covers the 15 most disliked companies so there's no telling where Verizon falls in the overall ranking.
OTOH, I'm on FIOS and like it better than any other service I've had over the past 30 years. FIOS internet is the best in the business, IMHO, regardless of what Comcast claims theirs to be now or in the future.
What's really sad is that both United and U.S. Airways are the two airlines preferred by my company so we almost always have to choose them for business travel. My only saving grace is that we also have to pick the lowest fare, so I can go with a different airline if I find a cheaper flight. Unfortunately, most of the time any alternate flights tend to be on either American or Delta.
