Is Anthony Bourdain selling out?

Looks like Anthony Bourdain is joining the ranks of the tv chefs that he mocks so much.

Quote:
Some interesting news out of Anthony Bourdain's camp yesterday: The soon-to-be former host of Travel Channel's "No Reservations" is slated to host a reality cooking show with British food personality Nigella Lawson.

Eater reported and confirmed that the show, produced by ABC, will "pit America's most skilled cooks against one another in a show unlike any other." It's the second move of the sort for the acerbic writer and chef, who recently signed a deal for a travel show with CNN.

That dude sold out on Day Two. I don't blame him, but it does run counter to his affected persona.

I think his move to CNN will be a mistake, and this just compounds it.

He gets to work with Nigella and her melons, however:

I'll wait and see before judging. He has been right on most things regarding "food television". This venture seems questionable. However, he has never said a bad word about Lawson.

He "sold out" when he stopped being a real working chef and got his show "Cook's Tour" on Food Network.

NTTAWWT. People like to get paid.

Let's see. My choices are to spend 12-14 hours a day working in a 120 degree kitchen, with lots of other sweaty guys, for relatively minimal wage. Or, travel the world staying in luxury hotels, eating the best food on the planet and making tv money. Tough choice.

I still enjoy all of his shows.
