I called TiVo customer service today because I switched from antenna to cable service and guided setup was running into the same problem.
The TiVo rep said the servers are being slammed right now by people connecting over and over again to try to get the latest update, rather than waiting for their DVRs to download it overnight.
They weren't sure when the issue would be resolved, but in the mean time, I'm stuck in guided setup and can't watch any of my shows. :-(
Thanks for your reply, I was out for awhile and just got back and checked and it said it failed again and it will try again at 6am tomorrow hope it makes it this time and glad to hear it's not on my end.
