I liked Pan Am (and actually have a few unwatched eps), but umm, Brothers & Sisters was pretty darn successful for several years in that timeslot.

I had many hurt feelings due to that hypocrisy. I had expected better out of them because of their professed faith. I did not want those feelings to re-emerge.

Damn.

I'll miss Cricket & Blake. They were my favorite couple on TV this season.

Cricket & Blake were perhaps the strongest couple on the show. I was very impressed when they revealed that Blake's "interests" weren't a secret in the relationship.

Point taken -- and yet Brothers & Sisters isn't in that timeslot anymore, it is? So what changed?

Believe me, I understand. I gave up on organized religion as a whole because of that. I didn't have hurt feelings; I just got fed up with it all.

To me, they made such a mockery of it all (even the hypocrisy!) on GCB that I quite enjoyed it. I would have suggested watch one episode and see if it was all that bad to you. If you didn't like the taste, push away the plate!

I stopped going to church as a teenager because of all the hypocrisy I saw with people in church, sin all week long, go to church and get forgiven. I have never believed that going to church gave people the right to be jerks all week long. I stopped going long ago.

With that said, I have been cracking up at this show. It really poked fun at the hypocrisy and the laughs kept coming and coming. It was a hilarious show and I'm sad it's cancelled.

I couldn't watch that one about the kids in Middle School that got a pile of Emmy's for the same reason. I tried ten minutes of it and realized that the feelings were still too raw. I think the show was in the 1980's.

I also really cannot stand "mean girls" and that is what these women probably were.

In high school the main character was the queen mean girl, and the other 4 women were her tormentees. The main character moved away and grew up, but when she came back the other 4 still saw her as the mean girl, and they became mean girls tormenting her. So yes, mean girls, but VERY tongue in cheek and silly.

It was fun, and we got to hear Kristin Chenoweth sing. So what was not to like?

If you're interested in the Season 1 DVD box (3 discs), Amazon has it for $19.99.

The name killed it - if you have to google a TV show to find out what the name means, it's already halfway out the door.

I saw Kristin Chenoweth in concert the other night. She seems very displeased with ABC and every time she said "ABC" the audience booed.

I'm reading the book right now. I should get the DVDs sometime -- it'll be fun to re-watch the show after having read the novel.

Considering I have no idea what the heck GCB stands for, I don't think I'll miss it.

Edit: Oh wait, it has Kristin Chenoweth in it? That might be worth checking out.

Chenoweth was a lot of fun to watch, and the lead actress, Leslie Bibb, was wonderful, but the actress I really enjoyed watching the most over the course of the show was Annie Potts.

I'm glad Chenoweth did the show, because I might not have tuned in otherwise.

Good Christian Bitches. Gee, I remember when my mother objected to the word bitchen' which was a fairly harmless word. Now bitch is said on broadcast TV.

ABC had two shows in the 2011-12 development season that had "bitch" in the title, and they changed the names of both shows before they hit the air. So while the word is no longer taboo on broadcast TV, it's apparently objectionable enough to potential advertisers and viewers that the network wasn't comfortable using it in the title of its shows.

However, they didn't do a very good job of disguising the word, so the fact that they cleaned up the titles just comes across as pointless and makes ABC look wishy washy, IMO.

Just made the shows hard to look up just like the title of the sitcom with William Shatner.

I tuned in for Annie Potts, but enjoyed all of the other actors and actresses, too. I'm sorry it got cancelled. I thought it was very entertaining.

I liked Chenoweth and Bibb the most.

Bibb because she is still drop dead gorgeous. (no wonder she is so Popular). Plus, I like her character quite a bit. The most normal, regular person in a group of people that were at best a little nutty.

Chenoweth because I've always liked her since West Wing and because her character was a real hoot. She was always cracking me up.

Not a great show, but I will miss the mix of characters. (plus, I got a kick out the Dallas setting)

I never got the attraction for Leslie Bibb. Her face looks alien-ish to me. Mark Deklin is what made my eye candy on the show.

Agree, she's back here in town (where she grew up and went to school) to put on a concert this weekend.
