Yea I really haven't agreed with a lot of the firings this season. I think like many reality TV shows they keep around the jerks to make better reality TV. A show where everyone gets along gets no ratings.

I was so bummed when Clay didn't bring her to the boardroom. I was hoping he'd give Dayana a break for a change. And of course I was also hoping Lisa would get fired.

Actually, Trump said he didnt think the slogan was so bad, but his hands were tied by the executive's decision.

or at least that's the way it appeared in the show -- never really know the actual sequence due to editing and creative license.

Isn't it his fragrance though? If he liked the slogan that should have overridden the executives' decision.

Rumor has it that Clay's display is the one being used in Macy's right now.

IMO it was a hinky win for a number of reasons- Trump gave everyone money, the teams were equalized, non drama making Penn was gotten rid of, and Dayana now has the distinction of being brought back more times than anyone.
I know that many wins seem designed for TV but this one more than most.

Everyone I liked on that show is voted off (Penn, Adam, Dee), for me this will be one of those shows that will end up sitting on my DVR until I run out of space and it gets erased. I hope the next episode of Penn and Teller BS! covers scripted reality shows.

The winning team's display was awful. That silhouette of Eric looked like the St Jude's Children Hospital logo, not Donald.

I bet it will come down to Aubrey and Lisa.

That was definitely the most compelling part of the episode for me.

This was definitely a tough task to judge. I think Clay's display was FAR superior to Aubrey's, but Aubrey was superior in all the other things (slogan, presentation, takeaways, etc.). If it's true that Macy's is using Clay's display, I'll bet it's been altered to have a smaller picture, bring the bottle/windows more into play, and I'll bet they're using Aubrey's takeaways and smell tabs.

I have to admit to myself that I watch this show for the manufactured drama between B and C list celebrities rather than the "game" If I can do that I'll be ok.

Last season with John Rich seemed much less "scripted" I guess.

Penn was on Adam Carolla's podcast yesterday and said that his employer (Caesar's Palace) wrote a check for $250,000 to his charity.

Also, Adam likes Dayanna (because she is hot and a nice person) but he said that early on Trump was off camera and talking about how the NBC execs were against Dayanna being on the show but Trump lobbied for her. Thus the reason she hasn't been fired, Trump wants to prove the exec's wrong and since he does the firing, it's easy.

Adam felt the best strategy would be to not bring Dayanna into the boardroom, that would improve your odds because Trump's ego wouldn't allow her being fired.

With that said, I think she is gone next week. She would have had a good run and it's becoming a bit obvious now.

They probably already had that 250k lined up for a fundraising task- maybe that's why he didn't want be PM, he was holding out for a call your friends task.
Might also explain why he was so ho-hum about wanting to stay- his charity was getting it either way assuming he won as PM which I think he would make sure of by calling every big pocket in Vegas.

I didn't see him as ho-hum about wanting to stay; he just wasn't into the boardroom fighting.

Penn is the type of person that sits back, listens to everything, takes it all in, and then formulates an opinion based on observation. That doesn't make for very good TV, so it appears that he's disinterested, when in reality he's probably very interested, but just has no reason to jump in.

I think he was interested but in an extremely dispassionate manner, like he was observing earth beings in their native habitat. To me he didn't appear to be truly engaged in what was going on.
Not saying it's good or bad but it's the opposite of what makes good reality TV.

actually some googling finds that Ivanka's jewelry is made in the USA. She is also the designer, so it is HER product, not just a name.

I'm baffled by the firing decision. But that's like most every other week, too. Trump should have fired Clay for not only approving the disliked slogan, but selecting a bulletproof Dayana to bring back to the boardroom. Trump has no common sense. It's a miracle he's rich.

Drama = Ratings. Penn was too disinterested to bring any drama to the show. Keeping the people who will engage and cause conflict is a smart move.
