Again, some learn how to continue to live within their limitations or even break through those limits, others retreat and shrink from the public eye.

For all of the amazing things he's accomplished, the number of people he's inspired both with his mind and his continued ability to live and thrive, that small smile...to me...reflected the spark of life that he has within him. It also proves that you're never too smart to laugh at a sight gag.
This x a billion. Silly maybe but I swear I got a bit verklempt when he smiled.

Thanks for that! Very cool.
I wonder what the 'alien on the turtleneck' thing is. Maybe since I'm not actually a nerd I just don't get it, but I wish they would have elaborated on it, since they mentioned it. I had never noticed the aliens on Howard's turtlenecks.

It's clearly some sort of inside joke among the cast and crew. But she did say it's something we might be able to figure out.

I never noticed it until now either. I wonder if it goes way back to the first season/episode.

I saw Hawking in person at a tribute ceremony sort of thing. He spoke on a number of topics, but when mentioning his work on futurama and the simpsons he got the biggest grin and twinkle in his eye -- you could tell how much he truly enjoyed those experiences.

I'm sure this was a treat for him as well as those who were privileged to work with him on this episode.

I don't think Hawking has always had the happiest of lives-weren't there allegations of abuse by his spouse at one point?

So it's nice to see even a glimmer of happy.

He was wearing one in the (aired) pilot.

One story that I recall is actually him leaving his wife for his nurse.

Apparently, there was an affair.

Me too. I thought this one was really funny.

Imagine you're trying to stuff a sleeping bag in a closet... Or something like that.

Sheldon, will you hold me? x_x

We watched this one last night in reruns.

The visual of a 6 year old Sheldon in a desk chair with a Speak and Spell taped to it is priceless.
