Pioneer 810H Upgrade Instructions

Team - thx for the great work you guys do.

If there is a link already for this - I am unable to find it and hence I apologize.

Is there easy to follow commands to upgrade the 80gb drive to a 1 TB SATA drive. I want to use MFSTOOLS2 which I have already downloaded. I am guessing I need to pop the 80gb out and backup and then restore onto the 1 TB.

If anyone can give me commands on how to do this ? I would greatly appreciate.

Also - just give me names of one or two working drives and sata adapters so I can buy those.

Also - can I do this using a USB-Sata-IDE adapters which would enable me to do this without taking my PC apart to make connections ?

Not sure what vintage your Pioneer is or if it requires a kernal fix to go beyond the 137GB limit. If it is an S2 it probably doesn't need an updated kernal. Anyway, there is a sticky thread in this part of the forum that details drives and SATA adapters that work together. You might want to take a look at WinMFS instead of MFSTools if you are running Windows. I use USB to SATA/IDE adapter cables when imaging drives so I don't have to break open my PC. They work fine with WinMFS and I also got them to work on my laptop the one time I ran MFSTools.

Forget MFS Tools, it's out of date.

Go to mfslive.org for the programs that superceed it.

You want the zip of the iso of the MFS Live cd.

Download it, expand it, and burn it as an image to a CD-R

Even if you don't own a TiVo it's a handy cd to have on hand.

While at mfslive.org you should download WinMFS.exe as well.

Then you should read extensively on that site about how to use both.

There's a lot on the MFS Live cd not specifically mentioned at that site.
