More copyright flags on S2 than on HD?

We recently got a new cable box after the old one started messing up. This cable box is hooked up to a S2DT. This is in the bedroom.

Ever since we got the new box, *every* show on the S2 (except the networks) can't be transferred, I assume due to copyright protection. Comedy Central, AMC, Lifetime, etc.

I would just assume that Comcast was very restrictive, except that on our HD with a M-card in the living room, the only thing that is restricted from transferring is premium channel shows. Regular cable shows can transfer to the bedroom just fine. This includes shows on those same channels (although not the same exact shows, I haven't tested that) show up as perfectly transferable to the S2.

Has anyone ever seen this? Is it a glitch? If so is it a glitch on the S2 or the HD? Is there anything I can do about it?

Likely a glitch if the HD TiVo isn't doing the same thing.

Talk to them, but have fun finding someone who understands about the anti-copy signals.

There are ways to get around it...

After getting frustrated with Comcast, I'm leaning towards just picking up one of the filters... probably asking for it as a holiday gift

Has anyone used any of them and have any reviews? I'm leaning towards the Grex since it's the least expensive and seems to fit the bill. I've found a few people talking about it online and they're generally happy with it.

These devices just eliminate the macrovision encoding, right?

Using the info from their webpages:
DP-X7000:
"Connection is simple, just connect the DP-X7000 between your source (like VCR, DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver) and recorder (like DVD recorder, Hard drive, VCR, mini-DV recorder, 8mm Recorder, etc...). It works like a filter and like magic you can now record any of your movies that you buy, already own or rent! "

Video Filter:
"Copy Once or Copy Always option, allows you to record on all DVD recorders including CPRM compatible recorders.
Record any program from Premium, On-Demand or any channel. No restrictions because you set the flag."

Grex:
"Grex is a Macrovision Protection Remover or so called Digital Video Stabilizer or Video Clarifyer or Video Filter or Time Base Corrector (TBC) that simply disables Macrovision Protection in video signal."

Just to be clear...This removes the CCI bit?

Checked the pages and it looks like these devices will only work with Series 2 TiVos. Too bad as I was looking for something that would enable MRV of copy once recordings.
