However, if they enjoy a show and are cool with people hinting at or posting things they've heard about the show in any given show thread, then by all means sit back and read the thread to their hearts content.

Again if they are the really wound up type I say just don't jump into a threead talking about the show unless they are comfortable getting upset or shocked at what may transpire in the thread.

Oh and for the always Miss flippant Robin ()...sheesh.
Completely agree.

The spoiler rule quoted is about previews/promos shown on TV. I like them and watch them, and personally don't consider them spoilers for me. I DO avoid what I find to be TRUE spoilers.
So, I don't really know how to answer the question.

I haven't seen a lot of complaints about someone asking someone else to spoilerize what they've just said. Is that really a rampant issue? For me, a spoiler nazi is someone who's always trying to sniff out a potential spoiler when it's not. Specifically, merely speculating about a plot point that you have no advance knowledge about how something is going to turn out is very much _not_ a spoiler. Even if it seems obvious and turns out to be true, you just got lucky thinking out loud about it. Congratulations to you. That includes if it was obvious to you, but not the person who felt they were spoilerized.

Concidentally, I was in the elevator returning from lunch today and we were discussing Heroes and suddenly paused, because there were people from another floor there that we hadn't had the pre-requisite 'are we all up to date?' discussion with yet.

If the forum administrators really cared about this rule, they would do this.
