Record you favorite ho-ho-holiday shows...

Hi-hi!

Long time, no hello, but I've been ridiculously busy in this TiVo Workshop, let me tell you.

I wanted to be the first to tell you that Holiday Guru Guides are back this year and just hit tivo.com, ready for your auto-recording pleasure! I spill all of these details in the next newsletter, but I always love to clue you guys in first when I can.

And... since everyone here is always so full of, uhm... opinions (heehee), I am somehow positive you will also have some fabulous suggestions to add to the below categories (I would especially love some for the last "basket" -- one of my favorites in concept [after vintage obviously! who can resist mr. freezemiester!], but sometimes hard to keep "full.") I can't promise your picks will make the final cut, but I am happy to hear from you.

Hope everyone is having a joyous holiday season, regardless of the holiday! (Remember, I live in SF and let's just say there are LOTS! )

A Very Vintage Christmas:
Any kid would call you a blockhead if you miss these nostalgic animated (and animagic!) greats.

Jingling bells and oh-so-many carols, wheee!

Holiday Cooking and Crafts:
Creatives always love a sampling of cheerful ideas. And can you just say “YUM” to gingerbread?

A Cerebral Celebration of Holidaze:
For those of us that like to take our holidays with a generous helping of history and science.

Now... who's going to hang out with me at CES in Jan.?

if you hook a brother up with a CES ticket, I'd be more than happy to go!

Maybe we can coordinate a badge hand-off, as I leave the convention center and you come in... You can be TiVoShanan, cruising the show floor. Will you promise to wear something cute?

Thanks for sharing this with us. In the past, I've gone through the guide and manually recorded many of my most favorite holiday shows.

I wish I could hang with you at Ces but I won't be going. One of these years I'll get around to going.

Thanks as always Shanan

Now if I could only transfer Rudolph from my TivoHD to my PC...they really need to fix this problem transferring HD content. 1080i stuff is problematic.

This is great! I was just thinking that I had to schedule time to go through and schedule recordings of my favorite vintage shows. But now, that's and extra half hour of Christmas shopping I can do!

What is problematic about it? Transferring HD content works fine for me.

I've got Anthony Bourdain's Holiday Special (on the Travel Channel) all queued up to record. I hear a rumor that he is actually going to cook. Ought to be interesting. Last week, I recorded the Top Chef Holiday cookoff special. Contestants from each season, back in the kitchen battling it out. Had to watch it because Tre was in it. I'm, sure Bravo will re-air it multiple times over the next few weeks.

HD transfers (possibly 1080i related?) fail at various points. There are a bunch of threads in the TiVo Home Media Features & TiVoToGo forum....here's one: http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...iled+transfers
