GSmartControl is also available on PartedMagic, which is available as an .iso or as part of the UBCD .iso

Or at least it has been in the past, I haven't seen the very latest versions of either.

Clean out the hardrive

Erase everything and start over. My 8 year old 20 hour TIVO HD was freezing and rebooting. Just go into the settings and erase everything. It has been working fine for the last 4 months. Good Luck !
