HIMYM - "The End of the Aisle" 3/24/14 *spoilers*

Well, if anyone had any theories about Barney and Robin not going through with the wedding, those theories can be retired. And good for Ted for standing behind Barney and not giving in to Robin's last-minute weakness.

WTH was Patrice doing as a bridesmaid for Robin? Did we know about that before?

When I heard "You love Barney and he loves you," my mind went to the purple dinosaur.

I don't recall it.

I wish, instead of Robin being her normal dickish self to Patrice, would've said something like "THANK YOU PATRICE!" in the same voice.

I thought I remember Patrice showing up early in the season at the hotel.

I am also glad that Ted didn't give in to Robin's weakness. It was nice hearing him say "I'm not that guy anymore". That does lend credence to the fact that it's taken him 9 years to get to the point where he is ready to meet the mother.

As to the Mother theories...
Spoiler:
I have noticed that all the commercials refer to it as "saying farewell". That does imply a funeral aspect.

That's common advertising for a series finale and shouldn't be read into as more than that.

Except he was totally that guy just a few hours ago, when the sun came up.

Loved that line, had to back up and replay it. I was impressed Ted did it with a perfectly straight face.

People will read into whatever they want to. Yeah, just about every series finale says the same thing.

I'm surprised there's no pre-finale clip show like we've seen with many long running sitcoms. I generally don't like clip shows, but I do kind of get a kick out of them right before the series finale. It sort of sets you up for the finale episode and, especially for a show like this where they bring up a lot of things that went on in past episodes, it would be fun to give us a bit of a reminder.

The biggest surprise for a lot of you would be that everyone lives.

I think they are all going to die, and then they wind up in Pertagory, and they go back in time and they build a nuke and they find out that two men are playing a big chess game to determine their fate....oh wait, I think that's been done.....

Are we sure there's not a clip show? The previews they showed at the end of this week's episode seemed to include interview footage, so I assumed half of the one-hour finale was some kind of retrospective thing.

IMDB is listing it as a two part episode.

Last Forever Part 1 and Part 2. I keep hearing it referred to as the "One hour season finale" which leads me to believe the finale is one hour.

Has CBS done clips shows for their ending sitcoms? I don't recall seeing one. I know NBC did it for quite a few, Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends all had clip shows.

I can't wait for the 2.5 Men clip show. Maybe Charlie can host.

Maybe they'll do a Six Feet Under ending and show how each of them die.
