I have seen this referenced.
Is there any difference?

What are you talking about? Where did you see these terms Model D & E?

Probably just a running manufacturing change, I wouldn't let it make a difference in my purchasing.

I saw them on ebay too, they barely refer to it other than some sellers putting -D at the end of the headline, and others -E, no visible difference.
