Anyone using these new boxes with the Tivo software loaded on them??

Comcast Tivo support person told me to swap out my two DCH-3416 for the new DCX-3425. I was having the crazy behavior of the units when pushing "Select" on the remotes. There's another thread on that problem.

Anyway, before I ditch my 3416s, I want to find out who else is trying a DCX-3425 with Tivo loaded on it. These boxes have only been in Boston for a few months, and the Tivo software only started to work on them last month.

HDTV TIVO channel list with Comcast cable

I currently subscribe to comcast high-speed cable service.

I have two LCD HDTV sets (1080i) in my house.

I split the Comcast high speed cable signal with a splitter and send a signal to each of my HDTVs.

I currently get BASIC EXTENDED service (channels 2-60 or so) So, that means I get ESPN 1 & 2, History Channel, Discovery Channel, VH1, MTV, Food Channel, Hallmark, TNT, USA SCIFY, etc...

My LOCAL NEWS stations broadcast their stations with two different signals 1) a digital signal and 2) an HD signal

What's strange is that after scanning for channels on BOTH sets I get slightly different line-ups in the way the HD signals are placed in order even though I'm tapping from the same incoming comscast signal source.

For example: my HD digital signals for my LOCAL stations are broadcast normally on Ch. 3, 6, 10, 13 and 40.

TV SET #1 puts these signals on Ch. 3.1, 6.1, 10.1, 13.1 and 40.1

TV SET #2 puts these signals on Ch. 203, 206, 210, 213 and 240

Can anyone on this thread explain why this happens?

I'd prefer to receive my HD signals on Set #2 the same as i do on Set #2 but do not know to do so.

ANy help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
bob

Remote control problems...did Comcast update their Tivo rev in October?

I have two Comcast HD boxes with Tivo on them. Last month the remotes started exhibiting weird problems. Basically they act as if you hit the same button twice instead of once. Especially the guide and sometime the select button. Anyone else having this problem? (example..hit guide it comes up..then goes away back to what you were watching with the info box up)

This is very similar to a known issue with stand alone S2 boxes that happened a few years back and was caused by a newer version of the Tivo software. I wonder if that but has surfaced in the Comcast Tivo code stream.

For the record the 2 boxes are the moto 34xx boxes as the 64xx boxes did not work well. they are much more sensitive to the Tivo software.

Is my Hughes DVR Model SD-DVR80 Compatible with Comcast?

I have a Hughes DVR SD-DVR80 (with TiVo) since 2005 that was originally installed with my DirecTV service. I'm switching over to Comcast next week and they said it would cost $15/month to lease their DVR. Being the penny pincher I am, can anyone tell me if my DVR is compatible with Comcast? If not, is there a hack or firmware upgrade that will make it so?

I called Comcast and the girl who took my call didn't sound like she knew very much about how to answer my question and was quick to respond "no," because she said the menus were different.

Thanks in advance for your response.
