How to force regeneration of the ToDo List?

Does anyone know of a way to force Tivo to regenerate the ToDo list ?

Either standard Tivo functionality or a script is fine, but it's sort of urgent... going on holiday in a few hours and Wife has noticed we have threee Tivos/ tivii / Tivum ?? with lots of missing programmes from the ToDo lists for the next week.

further investigation reveals this may have something to do with me disconnecting the network when I moved everything for decorating last week %^/

I've obviously reconnected them now and they now have up-to-date guide data, but they haven't picked up the fact that progs they should be recording are now on, or aren't duplicates of ones already set.

I guess the problem may resolve itself overnight with the next update, but that's a risk the wife would prefer I didn't take.

Thanks

IR receiver in Tivo packed in?

Hi
first post in many years, which I suppose is testament to the little silver box's reliability. However recently, my peanut has become more and more unreliable and sluggish. Hah I thought, about time for another 'nut. Got my nice shiny new one this morning, inserted fresh batteries and......nada, nowt, zilch!! Checked both old and new peanut output with digicam and both ok. Evicted all laptops, remotes, in fact anything which may cause interference and still the same. No remotes hiding down chairs, no senders, in fact apart from the TV, Tivo and Sky box my lounge now resembles a Victorian parlour technologically speaking. The front panel of Tivo however is another matter. There is no indication whatsoever of Tivo receiving signal. The red and green lights are still OK (Tivo is still happily chugging away recording my faves except I can't access them!), but no orange or flashing led. I'm pretty sure the IR board has packed in but any other suggestions and maybe if you concur, an idea as to where to purchase a replacement IR board.
Any help would be gratefully received. I have withdrawal already!

How to boost an infrared signal

Hi!
I've installed a new remote control extender so that I can control the tivo (and a couple of other devices) from different rooms (using a Marmitek xs).
Thing is, I want to put the infrared blaster across the room from the tivo (mostly so it's neatly hidden away but also so it receives the RF from the IR receiver reliably). Unfortunately, the ir emitter isn't powerful enough to reach the tivo (it only works up to about 4m in a straight line to the tivo).
I've been struggling to find a neat solution. So far, have tried using silver foil and lenses to focus the ir and replacing the IR LEDs with brighter ones. What would be really neat is if someone makes an extra bright (powered) "IR booster" that will plug into the back of the Marmitek (where you would usually plug in an IR "eye"). I did come across a simple circuit diagram to make such a thing a few days ago, but I can't find it anymore, otherwise I'd give that a go.
Does anyone here have any suggestions about a product that would boost the IR, or know enough electronics to tell me how to achieve it - my soldering is ok and I've got a suitable box!

i cannot get my tivo to change channels

was hoping you could give me some advice if possible?

i recently purchased a second hand tivo system from ebay that came complete with an rf2 hard wired sky link in order to change the channels, i have phoned technical support and they had not come accross this solution before and told me that the most common way to change the channels was with "ir wands" so they could only offer a small amount of advice.

the rf2 hard wired link is not working, and although the power light on the link is on, and technical support have assured me that the way i have everything set up is correct, i still cannot change channels on the tivo and in the setup menu i get no response when trying to change channels using any of the codes supplied.

it isnt a complicated setup either it is just a thompson skydigibox with the tivo and a tv.

i have also tried using the front ir blaster in order to change the channels but this also does not work.

would it be worth me buying ir wands? or is the problem elsewhere?

i am desperate to get this working as it is driving me mad!!

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Is anyone having an issue making their daily call?

Since the 7th Nov I keep getting:

'error reading HTTP header, reason = Broken pipe'

The daily call is done over the network card rather than phone.

The test call works as advertised.

Many thanks

TiVo to AV Reciever to HDMI

Hi All UK TiVO'ers,

My old AV Receiver blew up at the weekend so I had to get a new one.

The new one (Yamaha RXV765) will upscale/convert the analogue inputs to 1080p. I know it won't be perfect but it will make things simpler for changing between the TiVo, the Wii and the O!Play.

Anyone got any advice on how to get the TiVo RGB Scart into the reciever?

Will any fully wired SCART to 3 phono be okay ?

Can I use a SCART to SVideo/2xPhono lead and will this give a better picture from the TiVo ?

Any help, insight or advice with people with a similar setup would be welcomed!

Cheers,
Charles (who's still using an unmodded TiVo on an original lifetime deal!)

Hey all! Woke up this morning to find out my box had rebooted, then when I powered it up i was shocked to learn that I had the new EPG. I've had no emails or packs through the post lol.

When you rewind or fast forward, its a lot quicker to react, but its a little slower navigating the guide and on screen menus. The mini tv is tolerable, but i would prefer to have the background music back. Wouldnt turn it off tho as i don't want silence either. Hopefully the speed issue will be sorted in future bug fixes.

It would also be nice to be able to add 'other channels' to the faves list to save me navigating to the other channels section every time i wanna watch Itv HD!

On the whole, apart from these few minors. A good job Sky. (*altho it would have been better to do a deal with TiVo and have their software put on the boxes as its infinitesimally better than Skys*)

I'm trying to do another set up on my tv on just a free view box(swapped the sky box for a sky hd today - seems ok so far)

What do I pick as a source signal etc ? Its not digital satalite and I can't find freeview. Is their a guide anywhere to this?

Also I have a DUAL freeview box from Asda, any one know what code I have to give it to make the channel changing work?

Sorry if thats been asked 100 time s before I got to page 6 of the search results then gave up...

Altho Sky will never allow the TiVo software onto the Sky box, whats to stop TiVo doing what they did last time and building a box that could control the sky boxes. The guide data is there, and so are the remote codes that control the boxes. All we need would be the boxes themselves?

Apart from I've a number of recordings on TiVo that SWMBO wants to keep; and these won't be on the new disk drive.

Is there anyway I can transfer the couple of programs from my current disk (onto PC) and then put them back onto my nice new disk?

Apart from I've a number of recordings on TiVo that SWMBO wants to keep; and these won't be on the new disk drive.

Is there anyway I can transfer the couple of programs from my current disk (onto PC) and then put them back onto my nice new disk?

Hi all

Wondering if anyone can help me

I've installed the SortNP Hack and whenever I press Pause on one of my programs it refuses to create a folder and says it can't do it because its a single episode. Now it doesnt matter what program I choose to do this hack the same error comes up. I have tried this as well on some season linked episodes on the simpsons and still the same error occurs

Any ideas?
