First Tivo reduced the price and now they are being dump by Woot. I think even Amazon reduced the price.

Could this mean:


A new or better TiVo box coming out.
A deal with Comcast and or Cox to use TiVo boxs.

They are new but they have the old Elite badging. So they are getting rid of the rest of their Elite Stock. IN April they started selling the XL4 which is identical to the Elite but has a different nameplate and a different box that it is packaged in.

TiVo Premiere Elite is now TiVo Premiere XL4, right?

I mean, are there any spec bumps? Added features? Or it it just an aesthetic upgrade?

Works out to $700 with msd on lifetime.

I almost went for it. Had the woot browser window open all day.

I couldn't resist ... I had to bite. My 2TB TiVoHD w/lifetime has served me well, but now it's time for an upgrade!

The last quarterly wasn't all good news. I think TiVo want to get as many sub right now to be able to crow about growth and increase in revenue from subscriptions on its retail end for the next quarter. It's all about Wall Street and the stock price.

The retail decline has continued but it did slow some. I doubt that retail subscription numbers had anything to do with this sale and everything to do with them getting rid of inventory with the old Elite badging.

I sales sale for both are importance. TiVo need new sub not just sale to existing subs.

No. They're probably just clearing out stock from their supply chain. My theory is that Pioneer reminded them that they have a trademark on "Elite" for A/V equipment.

Yes either way it won't make much difference. Last quarter they still lost around 30k retail subs. Half compared to a year earlier but still a decreasing number of retail subs. Their growth has been from the MSOs

That was not my intention. Quite the opposite. Overall growth is good. Of course ideally it would be from retail and MSOs.
