View Full Version : Transfer Queue Blocked??

I have had 2 TiVo HDs and 1 TiVo S3 operating for several years connected to my home network via Ethernet cables. I regularly transfer programs between units with no problems. Yesterday, I upgraded my wireless router and set up a new network. While doing that, I apparently interrupted a transfer in progress from one of the HDs to the S3.

I then set up all 3 TiVos to work with the new network and successfully connected to the TiVo update site. I can see the other 2 machines on my Now Playing list, but when I try to transfer a program it tells me that it will be added to the list and transferred in turn. But nothing is showing up on the S3.

I suspect that the interrupted transfer is blockading the transfer queue. I tried restart for both machines and when that didn’t work unplugged and repowered-up both machines, but still no transfers. How can I free up my transfer path? To my knowledge, I don’t think there is any way to view – or clear out -- the transfer queue (is there?).

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. The wife wants her “Game of Thrones” on the TiVo HD. Help!

You can try unplugging the affected Tivo (the one that is stuck with a non existant transfer), disconnet it from the network, then power it back up.
Let it run without a network connection for a while until the blue light goes out.

You could also try disabling download and transfer privileges on your Tivo.com account for the affected Tivo.
Go to your Tivo account and under DVR preferences, uncheck the boxes that allow for downloads and transfers.
Wait a few hours and let the Tivo connect to the service.
Check the status in System info for TivoToGo. When it shows i,i,i , go back to your Tivo.com account and re-enable downloads and transfers.

Yep, the blue light is on on the S3.

I will try your suggestions later this afternoon and post my results.

Even transfers are listed in the To-Do List and the NPL. Look in your To-Do list and see if there is there is a transfer and high-light then press clear.

Only 'Ghost' transfers can be difficult to stop. That's where there is a transfer with nothing listed in NPL or To-Do list.

Thanks for the help.

Steve,
Unplugged the ethernet cable, left overnight, reconnected this morning, transfers are proceeding minus the partial interrupted one.

Thabto,
Thanks for the ToDo list tip. I've been a TiVo user since 1999 but never realized that Transfers show up on ToDo. Guess I just never looked.
