I just read about this. Apparently she was on GMA this morning:

Good luck to her. My brother had a kidney transplant 13 years ago this month, and he's doing great.
I didn't realize the guy who plays Dylan on the show is her boyfriend in real life.

The article is incorrect. Her real-life boyfriend played Ethan in the Disneyland episode.

There was some paparazzi photos of her about a month back of her in a bikini doing a photshoot for OP. First thing I noticed was this huge scar on her stomach..I guess we know what it is.
I hope this helps her stay healthy.

Awesome. I saw this a few days ago. I hope it allows her a much better quality of life.

People may know this but they typically put the new kidney in the front lower abdomen.
They don't put it in back where your native kidneys are and they usually don't take out the failing ones unless they are cancerous.

It is much easier going in from the front. The new kidney is placed above the bladder and from there it's a plumbing retrofit job. ;)

It's a much easier healing process to cut into the abdomen rather than cutting through the back muscles. That's why they've pretty much stopped doing these types of surgeries through the back and why they put the new kidney up front.

And they can easily do biopsies if needed.

Really? I had no idea they left the old ones. Fascinating.

I saw her on punked recently. She seems rather diminutive could that have something to do with her kidney problems?

I seem to remember one of those child stars from the 80's who was small had kidney problems.

Was it Gary Coleman? I can't remember if his issues were with his kidney or not. But I thought of him when I watched the interview with her. She's not as young looking as he was, but she just does NOT look 21.

Her age has been well-researched since the show premiered.
