That seemed like a pretty solid shot to the chest. I hope he's OK.

The show's been renewed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the dad's coming back...

Pretty good episode. I think Heny survives. The shot seemed closer to the shoulder.

"Forget it, Jake Shawn. It's Chinatown Santa Barbara."

I think Psych is the kind of show that should only do cliffhangers for the mid-season break. Kind of a heavy (and therefore clumsy) dramatic device for a lighthearted show.

I hope they bring Henry back. He's a pretty big part of the funny in Psych.

Totally wasn't expecting that ending.

Probably sometime in the fall; they haven't disclosed a specific date.
Last season started on 12 October 2011 and the date was announced (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2011/08/11/usa-networks-longest-running-original-series-on-air-psych-returns-wednesday-october-12-at-10-9c-364510/20110811usa05/) on 11 August.

My wife thinks he was wearing a vest, but I'm not so sure about that since he had pretty much packed all his stuff and had officially "retired." Still, I want Henry to stick around, even if he's back to the casual dad hanging out at home and going fishing all the time instead of a consultant for the SBPD.

Can someone explain the joke of calling the episode "SantaBarbaratown"?

I don't get it.

Can someone explain the joke of calling the episode "SantaBarbaratown"?It's a play on the movie Chinatown.

I think it's also good to have him in the Shawn-childhood flashbacks.

I think it's also good to have him in the Shawn-childhood flashbacks.
Of course technically, he could be dead and still be in the flash-backs.

But I think he's too big a part of the show to be dead. And honestly, I don't think it's that kind of show.

(Although I wouldn't have thought it was the kind of show to have the shooting scene in the first place...)

Ah - Chinatown. Thanks.

I don't think I've seen that since it came out when I was a kid. I barely remember the story.
