Falling Skies looks like something I'd like, but I'm not excited. Hopefully it's executed well.

Wilfred looks like it could be good too.

Franklin and Bash is the only one that looks remotely entertaining in that bunch.

Expedition Impossible looks interesting to me. Starts June 21 on ABC. Looks to be similar to Amazing Race.

I added a trailer for that show as well.
Hopefully since it appears to only take place in a single country the tasks/clues will be harder than on TAR.

I'm checking out Franklin and Bash tonight. Falling Skies sounds interesting but I don't know if it is sustainable. I'll check out Expedition Impossible for sure. I was surprised but I liked the trailer for Love Bites.

I was surprised but I liked the trailer for Love Bites.

I get a Love, American Style for 2011 type vibe here. Seems well crafted. Now whether it can sustain the humor over the summer using short stories remains to be seen.

I'm not sure I'll care for a show endlessly introducing new characters. It may be tough to create characters that will immediately hodl viewers attention.

We'll see. Loved the trailer. But then, I pretty much liked each and every actor they had on screen.

I will check out a few of these. I'm always a sucker for USA Network shows, so I'll check out their two new offerings for sure.

Franklin and Bash was decent. Happy to have something new to watch over the summer. :)

Is this a summer burnoff, or was it intentionally done for the summer?

(Also, how much of Love, American Style was for that show, and how much was repurposing of other shows.. IIRC, the pilot for Happy Days was originally a failed pilot, showed on Love, American Style with several different actors... then after Ron Howard was popular in American Graffiti, ABC wised up..)

I thought much of Love Bites was quite funny. The second segment, in San Francisco, was especially funny IMO.

I was wondering if this is more of another HIMYM type show, only with different characters every week. There seems to be a glut of them on TV lately.

Here's some more mini-reviews of some of these and some starting up in July:

I'm going to give Franklin & Bash a try.

Also looking forward to the new season of Hell's Kitchen, NFNS, and I think there is a Top Chef coming up after this season of TC Masters finally dies a boring death. heh

Love Bites bombed last night. 2.5 million viewers and a 1.0 rating. Being summer time, I wonder if that will be enough to keep it on the air.

Not likely. Not when shows like So You Think You Can Dance, America's Got Talent and The Voice are getting better than 4.0 ratings and are probably cheaper.

I can't quite figure Wilford out.

The episodes are already produced and I'm pretty sure NBC is just burning them off over the summer. My real question was whether they will continue to burn them off or just yank it completely.

Yes, they're all in the can and there's no chance that additional episodes will be produced. Whether NBC decides to air all the episodes really depends on whether it has something else to put in that timeslot that will do better.

I can't quite figure Wilford out.

I really think the same guys who came up with the promos for Terriers have been hired for Wilford. Strange name with promos that give no taste of the show. Seems doomed to fail.

I'll give it a shot!

The Aussie (and original) version of Wilfred was great. Like most transplants, I suspect the US version will suck. 7.4 on IMDB, although I would rate it a bit higher. https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Wilfred_%28TV_series%29

IFC bought the rights to the Aussie version but I'm not sure when they will air. You can watch the full first episode at http://www.ifc.com/wilfred/

I wouldn't say that. I just counted 18 of his shows on wikipedia that didn't make it more than one season.

So when does Love in the Wild or whatever it's called start? It was originally supposed to start June 3, and was at one point actually in the Tivo guide data I think... But then later I've seen it mentioned on other shows "sometime in June".

Just saw a promo. It starts on June 29.
