CNBC is doing a rerun of "Enron The Smartest Guys in the Room". For
me, it starts at 12:30 pm 4/22. Check your TiVos for the proper air times.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/35836210/ has some info.

I saw it awhile ago and it went into detail about how sleazy the company was and all the lies that their executives kept telling employees and the public.

Really good documentary; seen it twice on Netflix.

American greed at its best.

Only topped by the current amount of greed.

As a Californian, I don't need to see this, I lived it.

Having seen it before the latest wave of greed scandals, it is amazing after all that stuff happened that things continued to get much, much worse.

Depressing really...bordering on hopelessness.

Yeah, I wasn't in CA during the whole rolling blackout crap but I definitely heard about it. My mom (in CA) lost a bunch of money on Enron stock too.

Although I never looked into details about Ken Lay's death, from the surface, I have suspicions as to whether he actually died. I mean, the charges were dropped after his death. Hmm...

This. And you know it's STILL happening, they are just smarter about it, or there's just not enough people who care enough to look into it.

They've had over 10 years to get the lobbying system down so they can get congress to not only leave them alone ("tax cuts create jobs") but keep creating new programs so they can profit even more (http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-real-housewives-of-wall-street-look-whos-cashing-in-on-the-bailout-20110411?page=1).

They warn not to invest in the company you work for. I worked for the Federal government and had my money in treasury bonds through a federal form of the 401-K. This may be a mistake. :)
The revelation of the recordings of people laughing about ripping off little old grandmothers in California, did not help me to like Texas at all.

When I first watched the movie, that part had me so angry that I almost turned it off. The thing is, as we sit here with $4 a gallon gas as speculators drive up the price, has things changed at all?

Oh I don't know. Turning people's power off for profit seems to be a hall of famer.

Because the state of Texas was behind it. No some crooks...

I hate NY because of the Son of Sam.

Damn, me! I've been wanting to see this and there are no more showings!

I was thinking I needed to schedule it on my second S3, which meant walking to the bedroom, but forgot I can schedule online.

DISAPPOINTED!

Please let us know if it shows up again.

I don't have NetFlix. All of my monthly TV money goes to Comcast to rent CableCARDs.

I'll set an auto-record Wishlist.

Funny, us New Yawkahs (I grew up there), used to say the same thing about California :)

Oh gawd. The revival of this thread reminds me of the Enron debacle. Makes me want to vote for Perry. :)
