This show is dumb.
What reporter throws out the scripted text and opens the broadcast with an unsubstantiated rumor? Not only did Whatshername deserve to get fired but the news director should have punched her in the face a couple of times.
Ryan Nichols knows how to shut down a runaway reactor.
There are Fifth Column members who have daily contact with Anna. Kill her then. Erica probably could have killed Anna a half dozen time already.
Since they can see them with the special binoculars, why not post footage of the invading fleet on youtube or some other site so everybody can see?

This, This, This, Good God This!!!
If you're trying to get the public to back away from the Blue Energy reactor, nothing says "Let's slow down a minute" than a fleet of invisible spaceships that the visitors are hiding.

Right. Everything should have been on the internet. Skinned Vs, space ships, evil plans, everything.

I haven't seen this episode yet but it sounds like another winner. You can't watch this show with an active mind, just accept everything they do and say (like 99.9% of people in the V universe).
I like pretend I am Tyler when I am watching it and have a toy starship I play with while watching.

I thought Tyler was about to get him self some queen love when Anna got up on him.
Speaking of, at least now there is an excuse for his stupid behavior.

There would already be a reality show and people would be posting about it on the TiVo TV Talk forum.

While I completely agree about the absurdity of the show on multiple levels, there could be a valid strategic reason for not exposing the aliens yet -- sort of a lose-lose scenario. The aliens may be strong enough to cause a global holocaust even if they were exposed now. But the aliens would prefer to minimize their own losses that would occur in such a scenario by keeping most of the humans in the dark as long as possible. Meanwhile, the human resistance might think they can come up with a superweapon that will defeat the aliens, if only they have a little more time, and thus they can defeat the aliens with less death and destruction around the world than would occur if an all-out war were started now.
Of course, if that were the case, you would expect at least a short discussion of that strategy. Since the characters in this show seem like they would have trouble with tic-tac-toe strategy, I doubt they are thinking on that strategic level.

Did you know how many people live within 100 square miles of New York City?
TENS of THOUSANDS!
That's right, if you obliterate a 100-square mile area around New York City, you'll kill TENS of THOUSANDS of PEOPLE!!!

Well, there's a 50/50 chance of killing that many at one time. Though, there's only a 10 percent chance of that.

Totally agree w/all of the above.
Side note: At http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3203143&st=15&p=13721518&#entry13721518, there were some good points about what Chad did which I hadn't thought of.

Or Fox....actually Fox just makes stuff up, I guess that's a bit different
Anyway, as someone said, I watch this show with blinders on. It's really gotten so absurd that even for me, that's getting hard to do, and I'd said many times that if the show is entertaining, I could forgive the dumbness of the writing.
The whole news thing is so stupid. Why doesn't secret Fifth Column reporter simply pull in the other reporter and let her know what he's doing? She's obviously gung ho against the V's so why not clue her in? Then she'll understand where he's coming from.
You'd think and ace scientist like Bret Harrison's character would kind of understand that the qualities of Blue Energy seem similar to that of a nuclear reactor. At least think about what might happen if you cause a crash of the system.
Erica as a bad-a$$ is hard to buy after she spent the whole series NOT being one.
They change the rules on what all the V "powers" can do on a whim. Bliss doesn't work on humans, then it does. Tyler is the ALL important human, than, oh, there's others we could use, then....we NEED Tyler.
And here's the burning question I have been having for weeks. If Anna can make thousands of eggs (or is it millions?) as she did earlier in the series and the only thing that prevented her from making thousands of V babies, why is Lisa so important? You'd think she has thousands of kids by now.

I still don't understand why the Vs don't just kick our butts, enslave us and make do with us as they want. We have no defense against them.

Of course, if he did that the next news-cycle-dominating story would be NEWS ANCHOR COLLABORATES WITH FIFTH COLUMN! She'd be a star and he'd be in Anna's gunsights. :D

Those were soldiers, not queens. I guess it's like ants, where the Queen is the mommy to all, but she has different kinds of offspring to serve different functions.

Well, I think you tell her and just have her in on the rouse. She goes with "unnamed sources" that he's feeding her, but he still continues to report all the positive V news. There's no reason that she'd have to out him.

I'm sure you're right. I wonder how a V goes about making a Queen :)

I think because Anna is out of eggs. She made some comment about the last batch of soldiers being her last.
I still don't understand why the Vs don't just kick our butts, enslave us and make do with us as they want. We have no defense against them.
And I think the reasoning here was that if they tried to subjugate the humans by force they would destroy some genetic potential that they could use to better themselves. By coming in bearing gifts they can slowly sift through our populace for those with traits they want to insert into Tyler and then he can give Lisa his super powered baby batter.

Rather than reveal all their evidence of the V to the general public, how about the present it to the military? After they've checked that their contacts there aren't lizards of course.
And so what if a mole there tells Anna that the army etc knows. As long as it's not public knowledge, theres still no reason to go ballistic over it, and she can hardly lash out and accuse the entire military of being Fifth Column.

Because it's a much bigger story, that Anna's pet reporter is secretly 5th Column. He gets fired (maybe killed); she gets the sole anchor desk.

First, awesome Naked Gun reference!
Second, I assumed this would end up being the series finale too, until I looked at Futon Critic. Apparently V is actually improving in the ratings. Maybe not enough to come back next season, but I think it's a bubble series at this point. Renewal isn't just about ratings - it's about profitability in terms of what might take its place. So we'll see...

Thank you! :) It seemed appropriate.
Yeah, the way things are going now, I don't know if they could sustain another season at this fever pitch tempo. But, I would like to see some kind of resolution, even if just as a TV movie wrap up.

I think I only watch this show is because Morena ("Anna") is so gorgeous (IMO).
Tyler needs to be killed off, seriously, I was hoping the bliss would make his head explode.

"Kindred: The Embraced" did it.
I just brought this up because I was up on vampire shows before Twilight made all the 12 year old girls fall in love with emo vampires.

Morena doesn't really do anything for me. Laura Vandervoort, on the other hand...
Tyler seems to be the Wesley Crusher of the show, if not worse than Wesley. I wonder if the actor knows he/his character is so despised and what he thinks of it.

I never understood the hate for Wesley.
I never hated Wesley. I never knew about the hatred until I started reading forums like this.
I suspect some (most?) of the Wes negativity may come from those viewers themselves: they may have had the emotional young teen maturity of a Wesley, but really wanted to be a bad ass Riker or Picard or Worf. Note I am referring to the emotional age, not the viewers chronological age. Maybe the Wesley fumbling hit close to home. Yet he still kept at it.
(I am not suggesting that you guys were living in Mom's basement and collecting, ahem, "action figures...")
I came upon the series when I was well into adulthood, past my own Wesley ackwardness, so I enjoyed the look-back at a clever teen feeling a little out of his element around girls, or adults.
I think I found Worf a little like Wesley in that regard. He was "out of his elemnt" sometimes, especially around Troi. It was also fun watching the Worf growth over the years.
I now return you to our regularly scheduled discussion, in progress...

I'm changing my mind about V. I now watch it as a true comedy show.
my favorite line was when the preacher looked at Erica and - very seriously - asked her if she "can live" with killing the 10s of thousands of people. Never mind that they were standing at the center of the explosion that would do just that.
now, THAT, folks, is comedy

I loved how they carefully set up the plan to get the scientist guy into the blue energy reactor to disable it, coordinated with sleeper agents at the facility, prepared false ID badges, etc. Then two of them chased another guy from outside the fence all the way into the reactor room, waving guns all the way, and nobody took any notice
I also noted that they were able to see that something was going on with the reactor from the mothership, but nobody actually at the reactor site seemed to notice or bothered to wander over to see what was up.
