I'd like to call this particular issue "the big green circle of annoyance." When ever I am looking through my show list and select a show, I get to look at the "big green circle of annoyance" for no less than 5 minutes and as long as 10 minutes before I can actually select play. Before this started happening, I had a network connection issue, the TiVo displayed a message saying it wasn't connected to the network.... totally BS as I checked my network connection from my laptop and my iPad. The iPad could connected to this problem TiVo Box through the TiVo app, but the box kept saying it couldn't connect to the network. So, I did a reboot on it and all appeared fine until the next day when "the big green circle of annoyance" started. I've rebooted again, but wondering if there is anything else I can do. Oh and the TiVo is on a wired connection to the router, I am not using wireless for my TiVo box any longer.

Prior discussion (with perhaps some hints on how to work-around) can be found in this thread (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=463549&highlight=green).

Usually one day a month this happens to me, maybe it's having its period. Otherwise it works perfectly. It may be one of the programs are corrupt or it's a copy guard issue. Will we ever know? I hope TiVo has a fix soon.

Thanks terpfan1980, I read that thread. Not a thing that helps unfortunately. Couple of tricks that I can use I suppose, but nothing that solves the root problem. Sounds like my issue isn't as bad as everyone else either in that at least my TiVo isn't completely locked up on the green spinning circle.

Short answer, go into settings and change the menu's to SD, the HD interface sucks. Read on for my rant...
Mine does the same thing, Green Circle, then it tells me my network is disconnected, which it isn't, then I have to go back to Tivo Central and start over again. I can play Call of Duty on my PS3 for hours and I have no problems with my network. the Help desk tells me to restart my network, which I have already done, replace the Ethernet cable which I've done etc etc. Thanks for nothing, then they tell me I need more bandwidth...ummm yeah that's it, I can download an Amazon HD movie in minutes but my network doesn't have enough bandwidth to load the search results.
The real issue is that ridiculous interface constantly reacts to your every move and button press and has to pull in data from the Internet to update that annoying Discovery bar, and update the list of programs to the right with all kinds of crap I can download on the INTERNET and Amazon. I don't care when I type in Iron Maiden that I can watch a concert on Hulu, or buy it from Amazon, and "Gospel Classics" popping up in the discovery bar doesn't exactly match my musical tastes.
To get around this, use the SD menus, I thought this would make everything output in standard def, it doesn't, it just reverts to the Tivo Classic, WORKING menu.
If anyone had a Tivo HD, you will recognize this slowness from the "Beta" tivo search, everytime I select a letter, it has to pause and pull information in, just let me type the freaking words and THEN search for it.
TiVo premier is pissing me off!!!! I should have taken the time to fix my Tivo HD, AND WHY THE HELL IS DORA THE EXPLORER AND SESAME STREET IN MY TIVO SUGGESTIONS!!!
I HAVE A SUGGESTION, PLEASE STOP ADDING MORE CRAP TO MY TV SCREEN AND SLOWING EVERYTHING DOWN!!!!!
I hope someone there is listening, cause this REALLY SUCKS!!!!
