I love Chuck giving Morgan the warning about the Back to the Future T-shirt :p :D

Sara with the dark hair is also fairly hawt, but then again we'll probably need some pictures to compare and contrast that just for confirmation :D

*sigh* I wish I could say I liked this episode, and this storyline, but I really, really don't. It's just not believable... and not normal Chuck unbelievable, it's unbelievable even within the storyline. Volkoff would have to be the dumbest person on the face of the planet to swallow this crap. I didn't even understand the bullcrap that Sarah was shoveling when she was trying to explain why she was supposedly turning on the CIA, let alone believe it. Then, when Volkoff clearly knows that Chuck is CIA... why the hell would he just knock Chuck out and leave him there?

Ugh. This is the first time that it really feels like Fedak/Schwartz were left totally scrambling for a storyline after the show got renewed.

The whole baby storyline felt like total filler, and completely unnecessary here. I don't give a crap what the baby is named (although I actually think that BOTH of the names they were thinking of were equally awful.)

I'm glad to some extent that the show has evolved... but there are some episodes, like this one, where I'd love to go back to the "Chuck, stay in the car" era, the era where Chuck actually flashes something OTHER than how to do kung fu.

Eh, it felt a bit mixed to me too, but better than last week which just felt like a mess. And, not trying to look ahead, but well, without giving spoilers I'd just say that it seems that things will get better as we go.

I think part of the this episode feeling uneven is that they're trying to set things up for future episodes and get away from the last arc and in full swing on the next one. They (the writers and such) just seem bad at transitioning between story arcs.

Some of the Volkoff stuff wasn't bad (the Hydra stuff for example), but his whole interaction with Chuck's family has been stupid in all of the episodes he's shown up in. I wish they had gone for that originally, but it seems that is what they seem intent on going with now.

I wish there was some way that Scott Bakula could be back and Linda Hamilton gone gone gone. She adds nothing. I could even deal with the Volkoff stuff is she wasn't there. Bleh. I agree that that whole line is just useless. I wasn't really happy with this episode. Is it a sign of something when I am enjoying the scenes with Casey and Morgan more than the line with Sarah and Chuck.

I did laugh out loud however with the whole Back to the Future tee shirt bit. And Chuck beating up Uri...and losing until he found himself backed up against the weights. I had to shut my eyes when Volkoff dug the eyeball out of him later though. Ick.

Yvonne Strahoweveryouspellit is NOT hot in a black wig. She's way too pale to pull it off and the cheap wig looked like a cheap wig. YMMV.

Why didn't Sarah just kill Volkov a couple of times over when she had two guns trained on him at point blank range? If the goal is to bring down Volkov's network, that would have done it.

Volkov is a straight up cartoon villain. Nothing he does makes any sense.

Casey really got messed up. I'm going to scream if this somehow gets used so that Chuck starts questioning his love for Sarah because he thinks she really has gone rogue.

I will be pissed. But you know, it's probably coming seeing the look on Chuck's face. Or some twist of it. Then in some other episode Sarah can redeem both herself and his mom and all can live happily ever....

Agree 100%! I watched this episode and felt the "love" for this show die. You could call it the jump the shark moment. It seems both sad and obvious to me that Chuck has been on too long. Bye Chuck, RIP!

Wow. Just to be clear, I disagree with this entire post. I don't like the storyline, I still like the show, a lot.

Sarah all in black, including her hair. Not so much.

Flashing on Kung Fu, yet again. Not so much.

Back to the Future tshirt scene. Funny, mostly.

Chuck will need to be the one to get into Hydra, and I hope this current plot thread wraps up soon. Suspension of disbelief is being stretched a little too much. Overall, I certainly still like it. I am still hoping beyond hope that Scott Bakula will save the day.

FWIW, since Volkoff is in love with Frost, and now knows that Chuck is Frost's son, there's more or less a truce - he's not going to kill him or take him hostage or whatnot. But apparently having a goon cold-**** him with the butt of his gun is okay. ;)

Ugh. This is the first time that it really feels like Fedak/Schwartz were left totally scrambling for a storyline after the show got renewed.
Except that this was episode 12 of the season. The original order was for 13 episodes. So this episode had nothing to do with getting the back 9 (11) picked up. As I posted in the last episode, Sepinwall had a good, long podcast with Fedak and Schwartz and they said that they plotted the first half of the season, assuming that episode 13 episode had a good chance of being the series finale. They claim that
the final 10 minutes of the next episode are the best 10 minutes in the history of Chuck.
The whole baby storyline felt like total filler, and completely unnecessary here. I don't give a crap what the baby is named (although I actually think that BOTH of the names they were thinking of were equally awful.)
Funny thing about the baby name. Our captioning apparently can't display an umlaut, because every time they said the proposed name, our TV displayed it as "Gr.nke." We thought that was pretty funny.

I hated Ellie before and I hate her even more now. I wish they'd write her off the show.

"Gr.nke" on CC was pretty funny.

Yeah, as Sepinwall pointed out in his review, the reason this felt rushed was basically because NBC has continually kept the showrunners more or less in the dark as to how much time they would have. Since they probably imagined that Ep 13 could potentially be a series finale, they wanted to rush through several storylines in the first 12 eps to set up the finale. This ep felt more rushed than others. :)

Ok, makes sense... then my complaint would be that Fedak/Schwartz tried to accomplish too much in too few episodes. They should have focused the plot line a little better so that they didn't have this 2 episode sprint to try and wrap everything up.

Also, she has sharp knees.

Her "look" in this episode (the wig plus the wardrobe) was a nice treat for me, and perhaps I should just leave it at that. :D

LOL :D And I must admit I did not "KNOW" this either-I had a suspicion that the number might mean something so I clicked on "Cast & Crew" and there it was! :p;)

I want to quote your entire post because I agree with every bit of it, but that would just be redundant. I've been zoning out, finding other things in the room more interesting, and that's not a good sign.
