View Full Version : Premiere and ATMC in NC - problems, PLEASE HELP...

Got the Premiere hooked it up the the new set up recognized the network, recognized the cable company, downloaded all the right data everything is wonderful waiting for the ATMC tech to show up with the M card.

Tech shows up yesterday installs card unit recognizes it - go to see digital and premium channels only picks up a few, very few. No problem with the non digital and analog channels problems are with the premium channels and digital channels.

Tech calls and refreshes card a couple of times, try a re-boot twice - call to Tivo CS and their tech says cable card is recognized however, the Tivo is not getting a data stream from the cable provider (what's that tell you?) tells me they didn't program the card properly.

Tech leaves comes back today with a card that was programmed (according to him) right at the office and tested and works all channels receiving and broadcasting properly. Installs the card same problem - call to Tivo tech, same problem. Tivo tech suggests they take the Tivo back to their office to program and then test until they get it right (I have no problem with that) cable Tech says no can do liability issue. I say OK I will take the unit to the office and sign a liability waiver... still no can do. Calls office Cable boss says no to taking in the Tivo.

If this doesn't stink of "WE DON'T WANT TIVO IN OUR SERVICE" I don't know what does. Cable Tech suggests Tivo is defective I said fine bring back one more card if it doesn't work I will have a new unit delivered.

My question: Does anyone know this company and have had problems similar to this...? I have only been here for three months just moved here. Cable Tech says they only have seven or eight working Tivo units in their system and two of them were problems to set-up ...

Did I miss a step here - ? Opinions...- please? and I need them quick -

Well - nobody responded so I'm assuming nobody ever heard of ATMC - :eek:

But in any case here's a funny story early this AM I called their CS and told them that if they couldn't get the M-Card working and I wouldn't be able to use TiVo I would be canceling my account going back to DirecTv and exclusively cell phone for phone service and Charter Internet for broadband...

Low and behold when they brought the next M-Card in and plugged it in wonder Bar it worked everything magically appeared as it should ...

If you think this story is BS - your sooooooooooooo very wrong - true story just happened. My point, a lot of M Card problems could very well have so much to do with the Cable provider not programming the card the right way (ON PURPOSE) so you get frustrated and send back your Tivo and continue to rent their inferior crappy boxes...

Can't say it's a fact - just an awful funny coincidence
