Code 0991 works for the TV power, but the Input button doesn't work. I tried the 0999 cycle through all codes and that failed, too.

I saw some posts dated 2006 and 2007 that had the same problem with no resolution. This Insignia is an LED-LCD tv so it's a pretty new model (NS-40E560A11). I was hoping in five years this problem was solved. It's terribly annoying to think I would have to keep my TV remote out solely for the purpose of changing inputs given how mature these technologies are.

If I have to buy another remote, I will. I still haven't got a sound bar for the TV yet, so I may be stuck having to buy another one anyhow. I plan on getting one with a wireless sub, and I want to be able to turn the sub off with the remote.

sorry but yes, going back 2001 any tvs using code 0091 are missing the tv input command.

I also have an Insignia TV, and had trouble locating a code to allow the TiVo remote work the power/mute/volume on the TV.

I was not successful in finding a code for my Insignia model, but I did find an Insignia support forum that might be able to help you. You have to give them your TV model, and your remote model. It may take a couple days, but they will answer you (even if only to tell you there's no code that will work - as they told me :( ).

Here's the link:

ahhh ... I can't post the link b/c I don't have five posts yet.

Maybe? Yes! I can post the link now. The above link is to an Insignia support staff forum; they can help you locate codes that might work with your TV. Or, tell you if there's no code, if that is the case.

Thanks for the link, wisny.

I may check out the fancy Tivo remote w the keyboard in any case. If it has the programmable keys, I can hopefully prog one to do the tv input. I'd like another to control the sound on my soundbar, too, anyhow.

yw, sigpop :)

ooooo, those slide remotes look very nifty (especially for new tivo owners setting up sp & wl's for the first time - lots of typing when you start from scratch!)
