I have a Premier and am having issues locking in a tuner so I can swap between it and something else.
Here is what I'm trying. Direct tune to channel A. Press the LIVE button to swap to the other tuner. Channel + or -. Press the LIVE button to go back to channel A. This is not working as I would expect.
Can someone please explain how to do this?

For starters, you might want to ask this in the forum for the TiVo Premier.
Also, you might want to try a different wording in your thead title.
To be honest, your title now sounds like you want to remove a tuner from a scrapheap TiVo and put it into a TiVo that's got a bad tuner.
Not having a Premier or even a TiVo HD, I can't help you with your problem, tho'.

Not exactly clear on what you're expecting vs. what is happening, but if you tune to channel 100 on Tuner A, and then use Live TV to switch to Tuner B, you should be able to ChUp/ChDn or direct dial to any channel, except channel 100. If any of your actions involve trying to get to channel 100 on Tuner B, the TiVo will simply switch to Tuner A, leaving Tuner B on the last channel. The only time I've ever seen both tuners on the same channel is after a reboot.
I'm sure others will chime in as well. ;)

I know I've seen my TivoHD (and possibly S2DT) with both tuners on the same channel on more than one occasion.
In fact, I just turned on my TV, and sure enough, my TivoHD has both tuners on the Discovery channel. I don't know if there was a reboot last night - is there a way to check?
Strangely enough, the last thing I recorded (programmed by me) on Discovery was at 1am this morning. Yet when I looked at the suggestions that have been recorded, there have been recordings on 5 different channels starting at 1am, none of them being Discovery. None were overlapping, so the suggestions could have all been on the same tuner (call it T2), but one suggestion did overlap my programmed recording.
This is unrelated to the OP, but interesting anyway. ;)
[edit] I don't understand the OP either. What are the expectations vs the exhibited behavior?
