Youtube on Tivo [Text View]

So I had a quick question

If a video on youtube has an HD option (720p or 1080p) when I play it on my tivo premiere it seems to always play in a lower resolution. Is there a way to stream the videos in HD?

The reason I ask is because I have HD videos on youtube, and would love to watch them on my tivo. Is there maybe a possibility of importing home videos into tivo?

You can transfer .mpg video files to the Tivo, if you have tivo Desktop, or pytivo installed on the computer.

TiVo's YouTube HME app never did HD. I'm fairly certain the Premiere uses the HME app. If it does, it won't do HD.

TiVo is supposed to be working on updating the Premiere's to finish converting all the SD screens to HD. I don't know if that includes building (native or HME) HD versions of the existing SD HME apps as well though.
