I am building a new home network and have the goal of getting all my home video's transferred to hard disk. I see that the upgraded version Tivo Desktop Plus allows you to transfer some video file formats back to the Tivo units (I have several). I don't see that AVCHD files are recognized which is a real bummer and makes me think that this is not a total solution. Am I missing something or is there a better way to do this.
I basically want to pull video files from my server to my TV. Do I need a different type of DVR at my TV? My TV's don't have CAT5 connectors and are not network ready.
I saw some related posts to this kind of stuff here, but they were way over my head. Is there a simple dependable solution for a non-programmer type like me.
Any suggestions?
