Now that this often requested feature is available on TV it's time to find out how TiVo users are using the live TV window in the interface.

There is no option for "I would use the Live TV Window, but I am forced to use the SD interface due to major stability issues".

There's already a poll about the lock-up problem. This one is about how people are using the live TV window in the HD interface. If you used it enough to know how you would answer then feel free.

I THIRD that!!! The ONE thing I actually liked about cable DVRs was that you could watch TV at the same time as searching your "Now Playing List." So I was very excited they added this feature!

I saw no need for the Live TV window after usig TiVos since 2001. But now that I've been using the Premiere with the Live Tv window for a couple of weeks, Surprisingly I like it and actually prefer it now.

I have turned off the Live TV window and as a result have no longer experienced stability issues for the past week and a half. Slow? Yes. Lockups using the HD GUI? No.

Perhaps I just jinxed it! :p

I'm not going to vote because I don't have a Premiere, but I think I can still answer the question.

I would have it turned off. It is VERY rare for me to want to browse the Tivo menus while I'm watching something.
If a show is THAT boring to me, I shouldn't be watching it anyways.

edit: It would be an advantage for me in the morning whilst I watch the live news broadcast, however...

Prior to me getting the Premiere I would have voted that way too. But after using it, I do like it.

I have it on but really don't see a use for it. and deleting a folder after playing is buggy as the last video played won't delete until it switches to live tv in the window.

This is one of the few things that was better about the Comcast DVR (until now). I would have had a hard time giving that up with my new Premiere.

I don't have a premiere yet so I didn't vote. But I'm just completely worried that I'll turn on TV near the end of Survivor and that window will spoil to me who's being voted off. Or similarly turning on TV to see the score at the end of the Brewer's game before I am able to start the show from the beginning.

I LOVE being able to come in part-way through a program and start from the beginning, and this feature seems to spoil that for me so I'll probably have it turned off.

I liked it - but turned it off because of another post about it introducing spoilers on programs being recorded.

Also, like the peace and quiet while searching.

I will keep an eye on stability now that it's off.
