TiVo has never done anything like that AFAIK. You could sell it on eBay and recoop some money, especially if it has lifetime.

that is an option, then theres the monthly fee for two units not to mention the surcharge for the freakin cable cards, not to mention I was forced to use one of their cable boxes to receive channels added recently, it all comes down to the all mighty buck

You're right, darn it. I'm sick and tired of TiVo acting like a business instead of the charity that it is supposed to be. Why can't they just give everything away?

You raise a valid point yet there are those of us that don't have deep pockets as some do, I retired from the Rail Industry an the cash flow ain't what it ust 2 b
