I am not sure if I got the term right. It was the E.R. thread that got me thinking. Besides the normal weekly nighttime shows, what do you watch that is in syndication to tnt or tbs or such. Shown daily from pilot onward.

I watch and TiVo a couple shows that run episodes everyday. Malcolm in the Middle, Boston Legal, King of Queens and now Yes, dear. I used to do this for E.R., The Practice and Angel. These are shows that I enjoy enough to watch while I eat dinner and even if I have seen them a dozen times, they are more fun than the news. I don't watch Angel or E.R. as much but Malcolm and Yes, dear and now The Office are my faves.

On the DVR I use all the time I always have old Family Guy and South Park reruns stored up. On the DVR in the living room, where I eat dinner, currently we are watching really old stuff. Right now it's The Phil Silvers Show and Burns and Allen. When we start seeing repeats we'll move on to something else.

Seinfeld and Law and Order franchise (prefer the Lenny eps)

The last time I did anything like that was when I watched the old Home Run Derby (on ESPN Classic, maybe?), but that was years ago.

There's too much new stuff that I record now that I don't have the time (nor the desire) to dredge up any old stuff.

I wouldn't say there is any one show that we watch in rerun every day.

However, in any given day, one of us will catch an old Seinfeld, Two and a Half Men, Family Guy, South Park, Friends. There are so many out there now.

Law & Order CI, The Office. Not sure if shows like Mythbusters count, but I record those daily, too, when they're on.

I don't record any now, but syndication is how I got hooked on The X Files and Gilmore Girls. I'll still watch Gilmore Girls if I happen to be home when it is on. Just watched the one where they went to the Bangles concert on Friday.

I have recorded a few syndicated episodes of Bones, but not on a daily basis. Just don't have the time.

I'm still a sucker for Seinfeld and also Friends.

I got pretty maxed out on Family Guy (reruns) and King of Queens for now. I've seen them all so many times. Only a few top notch classics I can keep watching episodes over and over.

I was a huge M.A.S.H fan and even for about 10 years after it ended I watched it ad nauseam. I finally had to step away and, while I still consider it one of TV's all time top ten best shows, I haven't been back.

I love The Nanny and Frasier also and can watch those eps over and over.

I guess Jeopardy doesn't count.

I still record Simpsons everyday, but I rarely watch it.

I stumbled across the first episode of The Flying Nun when I was home sick a couple weeks ago. Hadn't seen it decades, set up a season pass.

I just did a dish network search for Phil Silvers and Burns and Allen....no luck. Not too long ago I had "what's my line" on SP everynight about 1:00 a.m., that dried up several months ago.

Here in Chicago they are on local channel 23.

I don't specifically record any, but, I do have a few that get recorded as suggestions. I fall asleep to South Park almost every night and when I feel like watching Reba, Malcolm, Earl, or Old Christine (and I often do) I don't have any trouble finding an episode.

I'm also watching the two old HIMYM eps. on Lifetime every Monday morning. I just discovered the show when the current season started so these old eps. are new to me.

The same, except we'd record old Frasiers. Wife & I love that show. After about 5-6 years of watching a Frasier or two every night, we finally got to where we could say the lines before they did. Mainly kept watching for Eddie scenes.

Now we just read and fall asleep. Old people.

Yeah, you know, it's funny. I never watched Frasier much when it was on the air, but six or seven years ago I started watching the repeats. I was hooked. I still record episodes daily so I have one or two at the ready to watch whenever. (Forgot to mention it in my earlier post.)

Cops. We have about 15 episodes available at any given time.

We go on benders where we fall deep into the rabbit hole of a particular series, watch every single episode (some more than once) then move on to the next series. Our more popular ones have been (in ranking order) Northern Exposure, Seinfeld (I keep five episodes still), Wings, Boston Legal, Corner Gas, King of the Hill, and Bewitched. Right now I'm on a Leave it To Beaver/Andy Griffith tear- life is currently stressful and I return to my childhood TV to relax and feel safe.

I'm currently recording and saving ST: The Next Generation.
116 episodes so far (I missed the first episode, I hope they repeat it).

I remember a thread I posted once about watching an entire series "out of order" (in reruns).

Frasier is a series that I never watched when it was on and then pretty much caught the whole series out of order over the course of a few years on different channels.

The only one I watch right now is Two and a Half Men. Mostly because I don't turn my TV on until about 7pm and that's when they rerun two episodes back to back. I didn't watch the first few seasons so it's nice to see what I missed even if it's out of order.

When I had more TV viewing time available I'd usually leave it on if Friends, Frasier, Seinfeld or Just Shoot Me came on but never really made a point to find them on.

A couple others I having been watching - Andy Griffith and M.A.S.H and Early Edition. Dirty Jobs and What not to wear are ones that I can watch or not watch, depending on what else is happening. Sometimes I like something on that I don't need to concentrate on too much - while eating or straightening the rooms up.

Same here. I actually started watching the last year, and got hooked. Then caught every episode over the years, in who knows what order.

I remember a thread I posted once about watching an entire series "out of order" (in reruns).
The only one I watch right now is Two and a Half Men.
I didn't get hooked on 2.5 Men until sometime in the 4th season. Over the summer before the 5th season started, I recorded every episode from syndication. Then watched them in order, from Season one on. Took most of the summer to watch them, and I was ready & caught up when September, and the new season, rolled around.

It's a great way to watch a series; no waiting every week for another ep.

I also did this with Arrested Development. A couple of years after it had gone off the air, I kept hearing about it, especially on this forum. So I recorded all 53 episodes, and watched them in order, over a month or so. Fun fun fun!

Me, nothing, but my wife has just discovered Gray's Anatomy on Lifetime. We/she never watched it first time around as it was too 'soapy', but I can't go near the TV now without her watching an episode!

I hate that show!!

This, and I keep 5 episodes of Cash Cab all the time in case I need to kill 10 minutes.

I watch Jeopardy.. That's syndicated, but not reruns.. (Well, they show reruns on the weekend, but I don't watch that.)

I generally(*) don't watch reruns because they're *hacked up* and you're missing huge portions of each show.

(*) If I have missed ONE episode of a series and it's not known to be coming to DVD, I will once in a rare while watch that one episode from reruns, knowing I'm not seeing the whole thing. Another exception is that I have watched I think about 10 episodes total of shows on the Fox Reality Channel (soon to be gone) of reality shows that were cancelled without airing all episodes -- and I watched the eps FRC showed.

I think the last show I watched *regularly* in reruns was thirtysomething, looong ago. (before DVDs...)

I don't watch any show every day. Most of the old shows I want to watch don't seem to be in syndication. If I can find them I will watch The Green Hornet, Hogan's Heros, Burns and Allen, Dick Van Dyke, Star Trek TOS and Gilligan's Island. Some of these used to be on all of the time. Now they seem to have disappeared. I would love to see some of the old "Many Love's of Dobie Gillis." just for the fun of it.

03-16-2010, 10:12 PM
Most of those are on DVD.. (except Dobie Gillis unfortunately. I'd rent that to make sure I'd seen all the eps..)

Edit: AFAIK, there are a couple of 'best of' Dobie Gillis DVDs, presumably some episodes that somehow went public domain.

None. There's simply too much new good content on for me to keep up with.

During the summer, when there is less on, I will catch up on old Mythbusters and Inside the Actor's Studio eps, but those are hardly "daily reruns".
