Does anybody know if multiple USB wireless adapters will be compatible with the Premiere? Or will the "official Tivo" adapter be the only one, like with the Tivo HD?

Tivo got burned pretty badly relying on third party wireless adapters when the manufacturers changed the chip sets on some models, without changing the product model numbers, making it very confusing as to what worked, and what didn't. So I would not expect to see anything other than Tivo brand adapters supported. There will be a newer 802.11 N adapter released at some point, so that makes at least 2 adapters that will be available. Nobody markets B adapters anymore.

I know nobody markets them. But I have an old Wireless G adapter in my Series 2 that I was crossing my fingers would work in the Premiere. Guess not.
If I understand the TiVo Premier Prerelease faq from bkdtv correctly, the Wireless-G USB adapter should be compatible with the Premier. As noted above, the Wireless-G adapter is optimized specifically to work with the TiVo. But, according to the faq, the new TiVo wireless-N adapter is an ethernet bridge and there is nothing stopping you from using a third-party 802.11n wireless bridge.
Since I have an Apple Airport wireless network at my house, and if I get a new Premiere, it would be placed at my downstairs entertainment center, I'm thinking of a new Airport Express. It would be a little more expensive than TiVo's device, but it would also help extend my WiFi network and stream AirTunes while it serves the TiVo. Unless it can be shown that the TiVo adapter is somehow better for the TiVo than a third party wireless bridge, the Airport Express would be much more useful for me.
