LOVED the opening with Allison DuBois channeling her inner Buffy :)

Didn't quite get where or why Allison's storyline kept getting interrupted by the detective and the brother's
- but great plot twist at the end that I - for a change - did not see coming...

Yes, I was surprised, to say the least. I guess Scanlon's brother sort of admitted to the rape, in a you-can't-say-I-did-it sort of way. When Allison warned him that the vigilante was going to kill his brother, he replaced the guy watching her, and allowed her to kill him by not stopping her, deliberately. His brother showed no remorse at all for his actions, and the show suggested that Lee had reluctantly decided that this was the best solution to a very unfortunate family situation. He allowed his brother to be murdered.

There was never a resolution of Allison's mugging. It was merely a plot device to get her introduced to the That-70s-Show vigilante.

Yeah, it was a gutsy ending. And part of me said, "Isn't an investigation gonna show he relieved the officer and ... yada yada ...". But then I remembered this is TV and it won't ever come up again.

I suspect that they did it that way so that it wouldn't take extra time/money (additional scenes to shoot).

While Scanlon has never been bright and sunny, that was particularly dark.

My thought was that the timing would do him in - he talked to Allison as if this had all gone down already and it hadn't, and I would think it would take enough time for it all to go down that the time gap would become obvious.

I also wonder what happens when Allison 'sees' how everything played out. Though given the number of times lately that the bad guy has gotten away with things, it wouldn't surprise me if she does see everything and just doesn't say anything.
