Do you think this new remote will use batteries like crazy since it is backlit now?

I would like to get one for my TivoHD.

That is an interesting thought. Would the QWERTY functions work with the S3/THD? It might be a nice upgrade if it was fully functional.

No the QWERTY remote wont work with S3/THD since its bluetooth.

For the record, the QWERTY remote doesn't even work with the Premiere out of the box. It requires a dongle. So it might work with the S3/HD.

Do you think this new remote will use batteries like crazy since it is backlit now?If it still uses AAA batteries then it will. Tivo should have used AA batteries instead.

wrong, it will work with the S3/HD, it was already confirmed by tivo. the premiere does not have bluetooth built in anyway, the new remote comes with a BT dongle for either model.
