TiVo and my browser [Text View]

When I bought my first TiVo and networked it, I read about a way to get into the DVR with a web browser by typing in the IP address, and /index, I thought. Gave this a shot with the Series 3 I picked up. I get the index page that just shows that I successfully installe it on the network. I remember being able to actually download shows and movies without using the TiVo desktop software. Does anyone know if that still works?

Note the https:, not http:

I tried this on my series 2 tivo with firefox and Tivo asks for a user name and password. Is there a default?

Thanks Much! I was hoping to be able to install an additional Hard Drive on my series 2 TIVO but it seems it's not possible so I guess I'll just need to shuffle programs off it and store them on the PC hard drive.
