View Full Version : How to transfer a tivo w/lifetime already on it to my account

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a tivo hd today that has lifetime service on it already. The current owner moved to dish and has already unhooked the unit to sell it.

How can I move this unit into my account? I want it under my account with my other 2 tivo hd units w/lifetime. I definitely want the ability to rename the tivo as well as enable multiroom viewing capability like I have now between my two units.

Do I need to have the seller do anything when I buy it?

Just call Tivo customer support. It's very simple to transfer it to your account. They might ask for the name or address of the previous owner of the unit, but they'll transfer it to you even if you don't have that information.
