Hmmm... great premise for a show, but this just missed the mark for me. I really didn't laugh at all during the show and most of the jokes fell pretty flat.

Yeah, I found most of it unfunny - the parody was a little too close to reality. I found listening to Cartman spew his nonsense as frustrating as the real thing... But the last 10 minutes was pretty good.

The Avatar thing was pretty funny. While it wasn't the funniest episode ever, I enjoyed it. I am just asking the question.

I didn't get it. Guess I am out of the loop on 'Avatar'.

I loved this one. I can't stand that guy Glen Beck. Thought this was a great ep. The smurf holocaust animation was great. Suck my tits!

The school shooting part was a little too close to reality but the other stuff was funny.

I'm in the 'didn't get it' category for most of this episode too. I found a few parts humorous, but nearly as much as the F Word (last week) or Dead Celebs.

Take Cartman's "Dances with Smurfs" story, replace "Smurfs" with "blue aliens," and that's more or less the plot of "Avatar."

I was impressed at myself for reading the little blurb in the L.A. Times Wednesday morning, something along the lines of "Cartman takes over reading the school's morning announcements," and correctly predicting that it would be a Glenn Beck parody.

Wonder if they'll bring back the mellow-voiced third-grader for a future episode so they can do a takeoff on Casey Kasem's infamous "Snuggles the dog" audio clip.

Oh well. They can't all be winners. Last week's EP about Harley Riders and the prior week "harpooning" Paul Watson, were good enough to get a free pass from me this week. It was okay, but hopefully next week will be a little stronger. :p

I thought this week was pretty funny, but I haven't seen Avatar and I don't watch political stuff on TV. Better than the whale thing a couple weeks ago.

I found it funny on both counts, but then again I can't stand Glenn Beck and it was great to see someone else put on a show of how nutty he is and I think Avatar looks like it is going to be a BBOS. I loved how Wendy turned it back on Cartman at the end.

The Avatar thing was pretty funny.
That had to be the longest build-up to a joke ever ... I couldn't figure out where they were going with the Smurfs thing and then finally at the end, ah!

It's so obvious once you see it, but I never saw it coming until they pointed it out.

And now I'll never be able to think of Avatar as anything but Dances With Smurfs! :D

Same here.

Until then, I sorta thought it was more a riff on "Dances with Wolves" :)

Cartman railing on Wendy cracked me up. It was so wrong and foul. Classic Cartman. :)

Yeah, they kind of tricked us with that layered meaning stuff. Usually, the only meaning South Park has is the one that's plastered right across the top. :D

To be fair, the two movies/stories are similair. :)

Is Avatar even out yet? Seemed strange to lampoon a movie that hasn't even hit the big screen yet.

The extended trailer has been getting a lot of play lately. Based on just that, the basic plot is pretty easy to figure out.

Anyone know if there was any significance to the name of the kid who gets killed in the beginning, or his face?

I can't help thinking it's a reference to a real (but not famous) person, like an inside joke or a fan who won a "get put into a SP episode" contest.

The best part was the very beginning with the murder/suicide.

All downhill from there.

I'm afraid there will never be another classic episode like "La Petite Tourettes"

I think he was in one of the Ginger kid episodes.
