Looks like a fourth season of Torchwood might just be happening, according to an article on TV Guide (http://www.tvguidemagazine.com/news/torchwood-planning-fourth-season-3168.html) (Warning, link contains MAJOR spoilers from Torchwood: Children of Earth).

Russell Davies said this in the quoted article:

We expect things to start to move in January. We’ve got great ideas for the show. I think there’s a further lease on life for many years to come, but certainly for a [fourth season]

Personally, I'm very excited to hear about this! Davies was a bit skeptical about it happening during his Comic Con panel, so the fact that there's movement is a great sign.

I'm excited to see how Jack deals with everything. Torchwood has at least one more good season in it and change is not always a bad thing.

Jack and Gwen are still alive. That's good enough for me. Never cared for Ianto.

What's your problem? Thread title said NOTHING about spoilers; only that a fourth season was planned. Original post was fine....then people start talking about stuff from seasons 2 & 3 (I assume)....

Last season I wonder how the heck are they going to pull off a season 3.

Still asking that question for season 4, but I'm looking forward to it.

Then why are you reading a thread about the 4th season? I'm behind on a few things and I have the self discipline to stay away from stuff that might be spoilery.

Sweet.

Maybe instead of doing a "season" they should stick with the mini-series, 5-days-in-a-row format. CoE was pretty good.

awesome news. But let's be honest-you'll never be able to top Children of Earth...

That's what they said about Children of the Corn!

Awesome news. This show has established itself as one which is willing to take chances. The cast line up for future seasons doesn't bother me. Bring on more Torchwood!

I agree. The show has always been about Gwen and Jack.... Jack being the marvel of nature and the center of the firestorm, and Gwen being the anchor to reality and our eyes and ears into Jack's world. I think there are loads of great things they can do, especially if they can get themselves away from being tied down to Cardiff.

My problem? You're two years behind and you're whining about spoilers of a season that ended 5-6 months ago. That's ridiculous. If you're so far behind, stay out of the thread. You wouldn't be so far behind if you cared about the series. I have no problem with TCF's spoiler rules but this crap about having to walk on tippy toes over past seasons has to stop.

I thought anything that had already aired (except previews of the next week's episode) was fair game anyway according to the spoiler rules. Catch up or don't read the thread. But if the episode has already aired, it's not a spoiler.

But if the episode has already aired, it's not a spoiler.Technically I believe that's only true in the current episode's thread, or in a clearly marked 'all season' or 'all show' spoiler thread.

IIRC posts in other shows threads, or in general discussion threads, etc should try to avoid spoilers unless tagged.

One could argue that a thread with "season four" in the title qualifies as potentially containing spoilers for seasons 1-3.
