No slow motion available on a video player to watch sports?

I have a TiVo hooked up to a Mac Mini, and and external hard drive, (called a Drobo) and I use Toast 10 Titanium and Toast Video Player to transfer football games from TiVo to the Drobo. When I play the game back from the external hard drive, (the Drobo) on the Roxio Toast Video Player.....there is no feature for slow motion. This is crucial in sports to be able to see the drive to the basket in detail, or see if the slider did catch the outside corner of the plate, or to watch the blocking form on a Touchdown run.

I've tried six or seven other players that do not work on the .tivo configuration. Any idea of one that DOES work with TiVo with slow motion?

Or do you know if Toast is going to add it in the future?

Thanks for your help,

FishDuck

use tivodecode to convert the encrypted .TiVo file back to an unencrypted mpeg2 that will play fine with slo mo in VLC.

Maybe I'm missing something... The TiVo itself is able to play HD video in slow motion.

But the complaint here is that some video playback software that has almost nothing to do with TiVo can't do something and so this is somehow a negative against TiVo?

Seriously? Come on.

Well,

The real reason this is posted here is because Tivo and Roxio have a working relationship in which tivo advertises the Tivo to Go product as something that can be done to view your tivo recordings on your home pc.

There is however no mention of drastic loss of ability using the "approved" configuration.

Tivo users should realize that the Tivo to Go package is given very little support and is missing key features that exist in the tivo playback engine itself.

If for instance you purchase a product that says it will do XYZ you don't expect to have to do a bunch of extra work, including things that may be illegal in your locality, to make it do XYZ.

That being said, the Tivo/Roxio offering seems very weak for the way it is presented to the end user.

Thanks
