I want to install TiVo Desktop on a new Windows7 machine. Part way through the installation I see an error message.

I checked services and the TiVo beacon was disabled. I set it to start automatically and clicked the start button. I shows this service as running.

Any other suggestion of what I need to do?

Thanks for you help!

By default, Desktop 2.8 uses Bonjour. TiVo Beacon is installed but set to Disabled unless you change discovery protocols in the TiVo Server Properties dialog box. Check Bonjour and see if it's running.

By default, Desktop 2.8 uses Bonjour.

Thanks!

Bonjour was not running because it was not installed. On the computer running the TiVo Desktop, I had not Apple software installed. On the Bonjour wikipedia page I was able to find a link to download and install the software from Apple. Hopefully no other Apple software will be "automatically updated" over time. I don't want anything else.
