That Don Guy

I have a TiVo HD XL with a CableCard and a "from the wall" (albeit through a splitter) coax input; it is connected to my TV through HDMI. Last night, I was watching a program on an HD station when the sound went out.
At first, I figured it was an HDMI handshake problem, but the usual fixes (changing the channel and then changing it back; turning the TV off and on again) did not fix it. (Also, when I recorded the channel, there was no sound, indicating the problem was probably with the signal.) There were also a couple of instances where the picture froze, but changing the channels back and forth fixed it both times it happened.
Next, I though it could be the station, especially as the SD version of the HD channel did not have the problem; however, I checked the station on my other TVs (one with a TiVo S3; the other with a cable box), and both of them had sound on the HD station.
Eventually, the problem just went away. Anybody have any ideas as to what could have caused it? (For example, it is possible that, in changing the channels back and forth, I moved the station from one of the Cable Card's tuners to the other.) My first thought was a possible hard drive problem, but if that was the case, why would it affect only one channel?
