I'm afraid you are going to need to provide a great deal more information if youo want us to help you. What make / model of TiVo? How many inputs and of what type does your TV have? Are you using an AVR, and if so what types of inputs and outputs does it have? Does it upconvert to thye maximum res supported by yur TV? What type of outputs does your DVR have? Are you using a universal remote? What make / model? What type of satellite receiver do you have?

right sorry guess mind reading isnt your thing.
I have a Series 2 DT that has two RF, input and output A/V and S-video. The Satellite is a Direct TV with three RF, satellite in, out to tv and an off Air input also on the satellite box is an s-video, two sets of output A/V. The TV is a JVC about 7 years old and has an RF, S-video and A/V on input 1 and A/V on input 2.

Set up your satellite box in any way you want with regards to using an antenna ("off Air input") or not.

Feed the audio and video from your satellite box into the TiVo using the S-video and the red and white audio jacks.

Go thru Guided Setup with your TiVo, telling it that your source is satellite.

Decide which you want to have the better picture feeding into the TV, the TiVo or the DVD player.

Whichever you want the best picture with, use the S-Video on input 1 and use the input 1 red and white audio jacks.

The other device will feed into the TV using input 2.

Whichever one you connect your TiVo to, use that input to watch live TV or watch a TiVo recording. Use the other TV input to watch your DVD player.

Yeah, that's a pretty good solution. There are others, which provide more flexibility, but also require more fiddling on the part of the user.
