View Full Version : Why can't I program a standard Tivo Remote for my TV?

I was finally able to program the Glo remote using Learning Mode but I'd rather be able to program my regular remote, since I'm not a fan of the battery-draining Glo. My TV is an off brand (SCOTT) but the make is in the list of manufactures and there are six codes available, but none of them work.

I also tried the one-at-a-time code search, but was only able to somehow program the Tv Power button to bring up the display menu (?).

I don't get it, if TV knows the brand and has various code choices, how come none of them work? What else can I do? Should I email tivo directly?

here's a link of the TV:

I found these codes, did you try the ones other than Scott?

Scott 0033,0045,0049,0107,0132, 0231

Realistic 0013,0025,0045,0048,0230,0231,0235

Radio Shack 0025,045,048,0107,0118,0132,0230,0235

0045, 0107, seems to be the common.

Are you pressing the TIVO+TV PWR til the red lights on, press the 4 digit code? (no need to press enter)

I think Scott is a Sub-brand of Radio Shack as well as Realistic.

BTW, the Glo is fine battery-wise if you turn off the glow feature. It's our daily remote.
