I have a single tuner Series 2 lifetime sub. Can it be sold? I know that the new owner can not put his name on it, but can it be sold and if so what's it value?
Looking to buy a new HD receiver and figured I may be able to sell mine 1st to recoup some cost.
Thanks in advance.

You can sell it, and the new owner can put it in his name on tivo.com or by calling TiVo. It'll complete the transfer ate he connects at the new zip code. The lietime service goes with the box, so be sure to advertise that it has lifetime service.

Any idea on approximate value?

Just my opinion...without lifetime service...almost nothing. WITH lifetime service - $250 - $300.
What do you other guys think?

You can sell it after you activate a new lifetime subscription and save $100.

I was figuring at least 200 since it is a lifetime sub. I just got the email from Tivo to upgrade. Gonna run me 300 for a new lifetime sub and 200 or a new HD box. So 500 in total. If I can dump this and recoup some cost, I'm all for it! :)

Well, I just put it on Craigslit for 275. Forgot to mention it has a larger hard drive wih 250 hour capacity. See if I get any bites.

What do you other guys think?I think your estimate is extremely high. A Series 2 (even with a Lifetime) is not worth that much these days, as everyone wants to watch video in HiDef now.
What's the model of your Series 2? Single tuner, dual tuner?
As others have mentioned, it would be good if someone will pay you $200 for it. But don't expect much more than that.

Single tuner, dual tuner? The OP already stated it was a single tuner Series 2. So even with a lifetime, I think $200 is way to much.

On ebay (as I was just looking to buy one) they are going from $160-$180 shipped.

If this is your only Tivo, if you sell it and the new owner puts it on their account before you by another lifetime sub for a new tivo, you'll have to pay $399 for lifetime.

Thanks, good thing to point out..I won't let that happen.

You didn't mention how old the box or the upgraded Hard Drive is.
