TIVO freezes during HangUp of TEST CALL

Why on earth would TIVO freeze during a Test Phone Connection at the HangUp stage? Isn't it testing the phone connection? Why does HangUp say "preparing data"?

Oh, did I mention this is an InstantCake upgrade which Lou insures me is flawless and bug free?

"Preparing data" takes some time, no matter what triggered it. Just leave the TiVo plugged in and be patient.

It'll make one or two more calls and will be slow for hours while it crunches the TV schedule and above that it may be doing an OS upgrade.

If it's just making a test call why does it download anything? I can see this happing when the guided setup is running but for the test call?

Still, I appreciate your input and will let it run.
