Ugh... Gilly, they're just gonna keep plugging that character aren't they? I still don't get it and I don't ever expect too.

I thought University of Westfield, and Tampax to the Max Tournament of Champions 1991 were both pretty funny but although I'm a huge fan of Vinny Vedecci I thought this one was pretty weak.

Just starting to watch it now.
Lukewarm on cold open.
I really liked the monologue - actually found it pretty funny. I know they've kinda done it before with the Walken family reunion. But still got a good laugh.

I turned it off after The Vinnie Vedicci skit. SNL just isn't funny.

I can't remember specifically what he said, but that line in the open about actors being geniuses. I loved it. It was...wait for it...genius.

That Regina Spektor is cute.

And her music grows on you. At first (~9-12 months ago) I thought she was a little offbeat and weird, now I like her a lot.

Grows on you? I've loved her music from the moment I heard it, at least two years ago. Now I wish I'd seen SNL last night. No, excuse me. I wish I'd seen
Regina Spektor last night. I can do without SNL.

That Regina Spektor is cute.

Really? She had pocked skin and her hair was kind of dull. I put her in category of dedicated artist who spends 14 hours a day on her music and not putting that much time working on appearance.

Regina's brand of quirky might have been scheduled too soon after Lady GaGa's brand of QUIRKY!!1! to do her any favors, but she's very talented.

I resent that! - Oh, you mean Regina Spektor! :p

I thought she was cool!

Interesting (maybe) trivia-Drew B & Don Pardo share a birthday-2/22- and that is my birthday as well-so that's how I know :o

I thought all the Tampax slogans were funny-Tampax-for when Mother Nature attacks your slacks....Tampaaaaaaaaaaaaaax.....Tamp it to the Max with Tampax...:D

Otherwise-geez, I expected a LOT more from Drew-but found NOTHING to laugh at. James Carville's ragging on Rush Limbaugh was ok, but expected and safe. Who wants to listen to this drug addict? He's mean & fat too! Yeah, none of that has been said before!

**SIGH** Maybe 35 years is enough??? :(

I agree. This year's been a real downer. And I'm a BIG fan.

The Tampax slogans were funny, though.

I laughed a lot at the ESPN/Tampax thing. Hader doing Carville is always funny.

Regina Spektor was/is enjoyable.

Living with the Devil cracked me up a few times.

Everything else was a waste of time. "Digital" Short on VHS? ok... (Yeah, I know that's how they label all those things from Lonely Island.)

I laughed quite a few times in the first half of the show.

Best show of the season so far. But that's not saying...anything.

I liked that SNL got the 3am gag into the cold open. Of course that may have been influenced by the fact that I am catching up on reading old issues of the New Yorker and am currently going through the March 17, 2008 issue with this cover (http://archives.newyorker.com/?i=2008-03-17) (you can close the login widow to see the whole thing).

Don Pardo apparently thinks "Shakira" is pronounced "Skarkeera." :)

Yeah, kind of a "meh" show, especially when I had such high hopes for Drew Barrymore.

Highlights for me were Hader doing James Carville. (Since he is now a pol-sci professor at Tulane in New Orleans, Carville is on the local news here constantly, and Hader's impression is spot-on and hilarious.) -and- all the Tampax references. The incongruity of the male sportscasters and all the crude and cheesy Tampax slogans was rather funny.

I also really liked Regina Specktor. I wasn't really familiar with her before. I really liked her music, and put me in the category of people who found her "cute."

Perhaps the lowest low: "Gilly". That sketch went over with a thud the first time they ever did it and only gets worse with each repeat. To drag the host into the "Gilly" fiasco was almost criminal.

I must be the only one who thinks Regina sucks :(No, there are more of us out here. I thought it was so bad it must be a sketch but then I realized she was serious. Very, very bad.

I like Gilly. The recurring use of Moynahan playing the nerd and Keenan with both arms in the cast make it more funny.

I hadn't heard of Regina Spektor before the show. I'm not that good at keeping up with new music. But I not only thought she was cute, as I said before, I also liked her music too.

I first heard Regina Spektor a couple of years ago on YouTube, the greatest music repository on the internet.

I like Gilly.

Really? Every time I see that sketch I think, "who in the world finds this funny?" It's baffling to me what is funny about it.

I don't think I laughed once during this entire episode. I hate Gilly, and I've never liked that Vinny guy either.

I agree with this. It's the same skit every time. Same with the Vinny Vedicci sketch. I laughed at both of these the first time I saw them. It's not funny the 5th or 6th time around. Especially when it's the exact same script.

Worst ep of the season, IMO. I did laugh at Celebrity Ghost Stories and the Tampax slogans. Everything else was just bleh.

I'm trying to remember the Digital Short. What was it about?

Drew Barrymore and Will Forte in a cheesy 80's commercial selling their services as entertainers who do that magic thumb-lighting thing.

+1. And Barrymore's "Scuse" was hilarious that skit.

You could say that about most SNL sketches and characters. Loved by some, hated by others.

For example I know many people here think the Tim Calhoun character is funny, while I have no idea why anyone would think so.

Different strokes.

Another example of a skit that's never different. I laughed a lot first 2 times I saw it. After that it was like watching a rerun.
