I upgraded my Series 3 TivoHD hard drive the other night to a 1.5tb seagate drive using WinMFS and the tutorial on this forum in the upgrade FAQ.
I used my original 160gb drive that came with the TiVo to make the backup file.
I've noticed several issues since the upgrade.
While I was in the middle of watching Wanted on HBOHD last night, the TiVo would briefly show some type of digital pixelation and then the movie would advance several minutes forward.
Then I noticed that sometimes the video would just freeze in place, I couldn't fast forward or rewind, but if I changed channels and changed right back, the movie would continue, but if I didn't touch anything, it would stay frozen. At the same time, I realized nothing had been recorded all day, when about 15 programs were in the todo list to be recorded. I tried to do a manual recording, it wouldn't even do that...
Then to top it off, I thought I would reboot the system to see if that helped. I rebooted and the system went into a boot loop.. It said Powering Up... then went to Almost there... Just a few minutes more... then it would reset and start all over... I let it do that about 10 times.
Back to the drawing board... I reloaded my backup file using WinMFS, increased the space and did the MFSuperSize deal, popped the drive back in, and it started updating the software again..
I let it sit overnight, came back to watch COPS that was recorded earlier today and noticed at the :08 minute mark, the video kind of froze for a split second and then skipped straight to the :10 mark. I tried rewinding and it would go backwards but it never showed me the video between :08 and :10, it's like one minute is a long still shot..
I hope someone has seen this before, it's driving me bananas.
Thanks!
