My first hard drive crash was pretty spectacular failing in about 5 days from the onset of symptoms but the second one was a slow decay rebooting every few weeks and getting stuck (I initially was thinking power supply) then the freezing and the blocky pictures and SOOO SLOW. Pre depression I was praying this box would die a natural death and I would buy an upgraded HD with lifetime again but now living in depression mode I did the $20 solution with instant cake and an old hard drive on my shelf. Looking to detach myself from tv a little more but so thankful to be able to open up and repair the tivo myself. I vacuumed the innards, wiped down the fan, made sure all my airflows were open and I expect another couple of years of service from the device that has changed my life the most this century.
