It's the same chip as in the playstation 3, it's not powered by a Playstation 3..

I would love that many tuners. I think it's cool how they essentially have a buffer for a week on all 8 channels. I'd probably choose instead to buffer the main broadcast networks in prime time only.

Of course this'll never come to the US.
That particular product won't come, but Tivo has worked with Toshiba before. If Tivo wants to make a big leap forward in recording capabilities this would be the way. Get Toshiba to make the guts and put the Tivo OS on top, leave out the TV. I'd buy one.
